Despite a boom in popularity last month, Twitch has been blocked from China. Users who wish to download the Twitch app in China will find themselves disappointed as the app has been removed from respective mobile app stores. Likewise, trying to access Twitch through a web browser will simply not connect you to the website. Last month, the Twitch app in China saw huge success when it became the third most downloaded free app on the iOS App Store. The sudden rush of downloads and viewers can primarily be attributed to the Asian Games, an esports event where Twitch was the most [...]

In news that surprises no one but is still good to confirm, the old guard behind Fox's current superhero movies like X-Men and Deadpool will have to start answering to Marvel Cinematic Universe boss Kevin Feige now that Fox Studios belongs to Disney. The news comes The Hollywood Reporter's interview with Disney CEO Bob Iger. Iger is short and to the point on the subject, merely saying that it makes sense to meld Fox's superheroes with the ones Disney already owns. "I think it only makes sense," Iger said when asked if Marvel will absorb those franchises. "I want to be careful [...]

When the PlayStation Vita launched in 2012, it already had a roller coaster year behind it. The system seemed poised to take on Nintendo's iron grip on the handheld market, which had been showing cracks with the Nintendo 3DS, by aggressively pricing it identically to its competition and promising an OLED screen and PlayStation 3-caliber graphics. Now, six years later, Sony has announced that Vita production is ending and that there are no plans for a successor in place, effectively ending Sony's nearly 15 year presence in the handheld market. In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, the new PlayStation vice [...]

Credited with directing such renowned projects as the critically-acclaimed Beasts of No Nation, first season of True Detective and upcoming Netflix series Maniac, Fukunaga becomes the first American-born director to helm a Bond film. Fukunaga's choice as director comes after director Danny Boyle dropped out of the project in August over creative differences. The 25th film in the legendary series, (currently dubbed Bond 25) this will be the final installment to star Daniel Craig as the suave, [...]

The Yakuza studio, known primarily but not solely for the Yakuza series of games, made it very clear that Yakuza 6 would be Kazuma Kiryu's last rodeo as a series protagonist. Last year, Sega revealed that Kasuga Ichiban, a wild-haired man with inverted colors to Kiryu, would be taking his place and would have his first introduction in an upcoming mobile game and PC game titled Yakuza Online, though details were scant. At TGS, Sega finally elucidated a little on both the man who would replace Kiryu and the game that introduces him, giving us the first trailer of Yakuza [...]

Since 2015's The Force Awakens, there has been a Star Wars movie every year, with the shortest distance between two movies being a short five months between The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story. Even for Star Wars fans, that's a lot of Star Wars. Disney's CEO Bob Iger seems to agree. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Iger expressed some regret about the frequency of releases. "I made the timing decision, and as I look back, I think the mistake that I made — I take the blame — was a little too much, too fast," Iger [...]
